About Lalbagh Botanical Garden
Commissioned by Hyder Ali and extended by Tipu Sultan, Lalbagh spreads over 240 acres around a granite outcrop older than almost anything else in the city. The cast-iron Glass House, modelled on London's Crystal Palace, hosts the flower shows the garden is known for.
