Madurai to Bangalore Taxi — 435 km Up the Length of the State
At 435 km and about 8 hours, this is a long haul north from Madurai through Dindigul, Karur, Namakkal and Salem, then up NH44 via Krishnagiri and Hosur into Bangalore, best planned with proper stops and, for many travellers, an overnight start.
The road north
The highway is four-lane for the whole way, running through the dry plains past Dindigul and the Cauvery at Karur, with the final stretch crossing the Karnataka border into the Bangalore approach.
Airport and bus stand pickups in Madurai
Madurai's airport at Avaniapuram has flights to major cities, and we collect from arrivals, the railway junction, Mattuthavani bus stand and the temple area. Many travellers choose a taxi for late arrivals or when they are carrying luggage or travelling with family.
Vehicle choice
An SUV is the sensible choice for eight hours on the road, especially for families or anyone travelling with elders.
Booking
Book a pickup for early evening or before dawn, and tell us if you want a break at a particular place.
An overnight run, done sensibly
Because this is a long drive, most people leave between 8 and 10 pm and arrive around dawn, or leave at about 5 am to reach Bangalore by early afternoon. The driver takes rest stops at Salem or Krishnagiri, and we do not skip them, since fatigue is the main risk on a route this long. The highway carries heavy lorry traffic at night, and fog in winter mornings can slow the last stretch near Hosur, so leaving a buffer for airport connections is wise. Tolls on NH44 and the earlier sections are charged as actuals and itemised. Destinations in Whitefield or the airport area add time beyond the drive itself, and Bangalore's peak-hour traffic can turn the last 20 km into an hour or more. If you are heading on to Mysore, Coorg or Hassan, mention it now so it is priced as one trip.
Before you travel
Tell us your preferred departure window when booking, share the exact pickup point in Madurai, and keep a light jacket in the car, since air conditioning and night temperatures can be cool. If you are travelling with children, let us know so we can plan an extra break at Salem, and confirm your Bangalore drop area early to avoid confusion at the end of a long drive.
Where to stop on the way
Dindigul, known for its biryani, is the first good stop, and Salem, roughly two-thirds along, is the best place for a proper meal and rest. Krishnagiri is a good last break before Bangalore.
What the fare includes
The quoted fare covers the vehicle, driver, fuel and driver bata for the full 435 Kms. Tolls, any inter-state permit, parking and a night allowance for driving between 10 PM and 6 AM are extra, paid at actuals, and all of them are listed before you book. A round trip adds the driver's daily bata for time spent away from home, and the full breakdown is shown before you confirm the booking.
Why book with Raja Drop Taxi
You pay for the one-way distance on a drop booking rather than a forced round trip, pickup is available at your home, office, the railway station or the bus stand, and every car is checked before it goes out on the road. Billing is itemised, so the fare, tolls and any extras are always clear before you confirm.
