Bangalore to Trichy Taxi — 345 km to the Rock Fort City
At 345 km and about 6.5 hours, this route runs south down NH44 to Salem and then on through Namakkal into Tiruchirappalli, the Cauvery city known for its Rock Fort, the huge Srirangam temple and an international airport.
The road south
From Bangalore you take the Hosur road, drive through Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri to Salem, then continue through Namakkal, with the last stretch crossing the Cauvery into Trichy.
Three things Trichy is known for
The 83-metre Rock Fort with its hilltop Ucchi Pillayar temple gives the city its skyline, Srirangam is one of the largest functioning temple complexes in the world, and the airport offers flights to Gulf and Southeast Asian cities.
Vehicle choice
A sedan is fine for two or three passengers; for families or airport runs with several bags an SUV is more comfortable over six hours.
Booking
Both one-way and round trips are common, and early starts are popular so you reach Trichy before the afternoon.
Temples, a dam and an airport
Srirangam, on an island between the Cauvery and Kollidam rivers, has seven walled enclosures and a towering gopuram, and timings for darshan differ from the main hours, so it helps to check before arriving. Samayapuram's Mariamman temple is a short drive north of the city, and the Kallanai dam, built in the second century and still working, is about 20 km away. Many Bangalore travellers use this route to catch international flights from Trichy, and we can time the pickup around your departure. The city is also a base for onward travel to Thanjavur, Kumbakonam and Madurai, and the driver can continue with you if you mention it when booking. The road is fast and mostly divided, but a rest stop at Salem is sensible for a drive of this length.
Before you travel
Because this is a full half-day drive, it helps to tell us early if you are travelling with children or elderly relatives, so we can plan longer breaks. Keep a little cash for parking at temples and viewpoints in Trichy, and if you are booking an airport run, share the flight time so we can work back from it. Tolls are itemised on your quote and charged as actuals.
Where to stop on the way
Krishnagiri makes a good breakfast stop about 90 minutes out, and Salem, roughly the halfway point, has plenty of restaurants. Namakkal, on the last leg, has a rock fort and Anjaneyar temple if you want a change of scene.
What the fare includes
The quoted fare covers the vehicle, driver, fuel and driver bata for the full 345 Kms. Tolls, any inter-state permit, parking and a night allowance for driving between 10 PM and 6 AM are extra, paid at actuals, and all of them are listed before you book. A round trip adds the driver's daily bata for time spent away from home, and the full breakdown is shown before you confirm the booking.
Why book with Raja Drop Taxi
You pay for the one-way distance on a drop booking rather than a forced round trip, pickup is available at your home, office, the railway station or the bus stand, and every car is checked before it goes out on the road. Billing is itemised, so the fare, tolls and any extras are always clear before you confirm.
